Challenges and Opportunities for Managing Hemophilia
The American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits recently published an important article on hemophilia management and the opportunities for managed care to achieve more cost effective care. The article is part of a continuing education program (for physicians, pharmacists, nurses and case managers) that includes the journal article and the slides (with notes) first developed for a series of webcastsconducted with the cooperation of the National Hemophilia Foundation late in 2010. The faculty includes hematologists who direct Hemophilia Treatment Centers, nurse coordinators who manage these Centers, leading executives of Specialty Pharmacy/Home Infusion companies who managed pharmaceutical care and other services and our own Trustees who serve as leadership of payor formulary committees. This series of webcasts has continued annually in 2011, 2012 and 2013, and the slides and notes posted here reflect the content of the 2013 webcasts.
