Improving the Cost Effective Management of Hemophilia in a Managed Care Setting

The American Journal of Pharmacy Benefits recently published an important article on hemophilia management and the opportunities for managed care to achieve more cost effective care. The article is part of a continuing education program (for physicians, pharmacists and nurses) that includes the journal article and the slides (with notes) first developed for a series of webinars conducted with the cooperation of the National Hemophilia Foundation late in 2010. The faculty includes Hematologists who direct Hemophilia Treatment Centers, nurse coordinators who manage these Centers and our own Trustees who serve as leadership of payor formulary committees. This series of webinars has continued annually in 2011 and 2012, and the slides and notes posted here reflect the content of the 2012 webinars.
